What Makes Me Tick?

I have a Master’s Degree in education reform in developing countries. Thinking it would be wise to apply these skills to my own country, I jumped right in to the early days of launching charter public schools.

I am a serial entrepreneur. I can’t help but see a need and put the team together to solve it. I am also fascinated by organizational development. How do you pluck something out of thin air, get traction and scale? So, charter schools were perfect for me.

I quickly became obsessed with the volunteer board part of the charter school equation. Afterall, the founders were going to come and go, but the board would be there in perpetuity.

  • How were busy volunteers going to effectively steward these organizations?
  • How were their CEOs going to support them when they already had so much on their plates?
  • How were they going to rapidly scale to meet community demand?
  • Would they make it from launch to thriving?

Since 1995 I have been building and providing tools, supports and programs to help the charter school movement address these mission critical questions.
